THE SNOWMAN - A Christmas Fairy Tale

How nice, that there is still something that is good: THE SNOWMAN, a heartwarmingly nostalgic stage production based upon the famous children’s book of the same name written by RAYMOND BRIGGS, tells, the story of a small boy, who builds a snowman in beautiful pictures. Overnight, the snowman comes to life and takes the boy with him on an adventurous journey through his fascinating winter world. The boy not only learns how to fly, but about real friendship as well and he even finally meets Santa Claus.

The BIRMINGHAM REPERTORY THEATRE has produced this enchanting piece under the direction of BILL ALEXANDER and the choreography of ROBERT NORTH already back in 1993. Since then it became a yearly Christmas ritual for thousands of English families. The LONDON EVENING STANDARD called the show the "Rolls Royce of children’s entertainment", while the venerable LONDON TIMES judged, the show is "sheer magic".

THE SNOWMAN gets along without any words at all and simply convinces with pictures and music. An opulent set, stunning costumes and spectacular effects in a child-oriented production, which leaves its small fans with open mouths, are the secret behind this production.
